Crest Animation Studios (CASL) popularly known as Crest, was incorporated in 1990 as an advertising film production company. Today it is one the largest CG (Computer Generated) production companies in India.
Since its inception, the company has provided more than 150 half hours of television and home video titles in CG animation. The company is known to have introduced animation and special effects to the Indian market.
It has delivered animation 12 DVDs that includes Arthur, Care Bear, Get Along Gang, Casper and many more. The company employs CGI (computer generated imaging) of 500 people.
The company owns a studio in Mumbai spread across is 45,000 sq ft of area. Crest owns subsidiaries namely Crest Animation Production Inc, Crest Communication Holdings (CCHL) Mauritius and Crest Interractive.
The company is amongst the first players in Asia to provide service to mainstream entertainment industry in the UK and the US – demonstrating high quality, timely deliveries and competitive costs.
The company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India. The company’s Global Depository Receipts (GDRs) are listed the Luxembourg Stock Exchange
Crest has worked for clients such as Mike Young Prods., Mark Brown, Classic Media, Nelvana, American Greetings, Marathon and Nickelodeon.
Recently the company has tied up with Lions Gate Family Entertainment to co-produce three movies. Currently Crest's first feature film is under production.
Crest has also entered its gaming segment that has strengthened the existing business model of the company
The company also conducts R&D activities to develop new sets of skills, enhance existing ones, and improve production facilities and various processes of productions.

2000- The company restructured the business and concentrated on CGI Animation.
Jakers! The adventures of piggley winks, the first television series Crest animated for Mike Young Prods, received a daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Children's Animated Program.
'Pet Alien' has won many awards that include Daytime EMMY, BAFTA, FICCI Frames 2005, Humanitas Prize for Children’s Animation, and a nomination for Annie Award.
Crest Animation Studios has built infrastructure that enables it to produce a CG feature film in approximately 2 to 2 ½ years, versus the average of 3–4 years for most CG animated features in the major studios.
