Information Technologies India was incorporated on September 20, 1976 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Usha Rectifier Corporation India. It became a private limited company on October 9, 1980 and was converted into a public limited company on October 7, 1992.
The CMM Level 5 certified company provides onsite and offshore software development services to clients worldwide. Services include the development of new software products for palmtops, handhelds and desktop PCs; managed services including medical transcription to meet all the application needs of clients; and mobile computing for internet users.
The company has its software development centre with state-of-the-art facilities in New Delhi. It has a presence abroad through its own offices or joint venture companies in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, UAE, and Finland. The company is in the red and has been suspended from BSE on account of non compliance with listing agreement clauses.
In the year 1995, the company undertook to set up a joint venture in UK called ION Information Technologies, to market the company's services in UK as also to bring additional software business to India and the company also undertook development of software for AT 386 & AT 486 computers with printers and for payphones, Usha GPT phones. The payphone are operated without coins.
