Sawant Food Products Limited was incorporated on June 13, 1972 as a private limited company. Earlier known as Sawant Fisheries, it was converted into a public limited company with the present name on April 13, 1986, and went public on March 21, 1994. The registered office of the company is at Thane in Maharashtra.
The company is also listed on the ‘A’ list of the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for more than 16 years and is constantly in pace with the various technological developments that are taking place in the seafood industry at a global level.
Sawant Food Products is a government recognized export house with a global presence, engaged in the processing and exporting of a wide range of frozen seafood to various international markets for more than 25 years. Thus, the company is accepted in the international markets and organizations.
The activities of the company include processing marine catches like raw shrimps, squid and cuttle fish and lobsters. The company's processing unit in Thane, Maharashtra was Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) approved as per the European Union Directives. The purpose built factory had been approved for exporting to the most sophisticated and highly knowledgeable markets of the United States of America and the European Union.
Sawant Food Products has one of largest infrastructures available in India and guarantees supplies on a continuous basis. The key to this was the skilled staff involved in the production of what is essentially a range of fresh frozen sea food products.
