Nestle India in association with MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child, a national non-for-profit organization, has launched Project Jagriti in Nagpur to create awareness about nutrition and the benefits of breastfeeding to positively impact health at key life stages. The objective of this initiative is to accelerate the uptake of health services by improving continuum of care on health, nutrition and hygiene practices amongst adolescents, young couples and care givers.
As part of this initiative, MAMTA will be implementing Project Jagriti in slums of Nagpur urban catering to a population of 2,00,000. These slums are located at Ashi Nagar Zone, Mangalwari Zone and Satranjipura zone. The launch is part of the Nestle-MAMTA partnership since 2014 in 15 districts and 8 states of India which aims to positively impact 4.5 lakh beneficiaries over a period of 3 years.
