BEML has inaugurated a 200 KWp grid connected Rooftop Solar project at its Mysore Complex on March 02, 2017. With the installation and commissioning of the Rooftop Solar project, the company has inched towards achieving the target of utilizing 100% Renewable energy for Captive Consumption. Besides, in realizing its goal of achieving 100% renewable energy, the company has commenced its initiation by setting up a 5 MW Windmill Project at Gadag District, Karnataka which is generating power since 2007.
National Aluminium Company (NALCO) has posted 16.8% growth in Bauxite production up to February 2017 with a volume of 65.64 lakh tones (LT), the highest since its inception. Similarly, the Hydrate production at its refinery has also registered an increase of 6.8%. The hydrate production till February 2017 was 18.9 LT as against 17.7 LT for the same period in the previous year. At its aluminium smelter, cast metal production grew by 3.79% and the aluminium metal sales grew by 2.68%. The company is planning to increase its cast metal production by 12% in the next fiscal.
A2Z Infra Engineering has been awarded a contract from Grid Solar and Energy Efficiency Project, Nepal Electricity Authority for Design, Supply, Delivery, Installation, testing and Commissioning of 33/11 KV Substations and 33 KV Lines, for the contract price aggregating to $7,066,613.41. Last year in December, A2Z Infraservices, a material subsidiary of A2Z Infra Engineering had received three facility management services contacts from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), a joint venture of Government of India and Government of Delhi. The aggregate value of the contracts was Rs 39.31 crore, excluding Service Tax with additional increase in actual wages and corresponding EPF & ESI.
Transport Corporation of India (TCI) has acquired a new ship to be deployed on the west coast. The cost of acquisition was around $5.5 million which was funded by internal accruals and loan from bank(s). The company has acquired the ship on March 2, 2017, with an aim of business expansion. The company currently has 4 domestic ships with the capacity of 3500-10600 DWT. Of the four ships, three are deployed on the east coast and one on the west coast.
Syngene International has entered into partnership with Herbalife Nutrition, a global nutrition company, to establish Nutrition Research and Development Lab in India. The strategic partnership will help Herbalife Nutrition to develop and formulate world-class nutrition products for Indian consumers. The new Nutrition Research and Development facility spans 3,000 sq ft, and is located within the Syngene campus at Bangalore. The facility also houses a separate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) formulation lab to support product testing, sampling and end-product development.
Ruchi Soya Industries (Ruchi Soya) has extended tie-up with Yogrishi Baba Ramdev ji promoted Patanjali Ayurved (Patanjali) for physical refining and packaging of edible oils. Under the terms of the Agreements, the company would process the crude oil provided by Patanjali and pack the refined oil as per their specifications at its plant in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat along with Rajasthan. The initial agreement had been signed for Rajasthan, however, looking at the strong demand for the 3 major varieties of edible oils - soybean, sunflower, mustard oil, both the organisations have inked further agreements for processing and packaging and thereby, allowing them to rapidly scale up and further cement their positions in the Rs 1,25,000 crore edible oil market.
